How To Bring French Country Into Your Home

French country decorating is one of the most popular forms of country decorating today, yet many are confused about how to introduce this look into their homes.

French country decorating need not be expensive or difficult, and you don’t need to go out and purchase a whole new room. It is easy to introduce touches of the French country style without changing your entire decorating scheme.

French country style is a European version of our own American country style that has been popular for generations. French country however, adds more elegance, curved lines, and contrasts with weathered finishes and lots of texture. It is NOT a Parisian apartment! It is a style of the wonderful people of Provence, who work hard, play hard, and love the colors, textures and scents of the outdoors. Common colors in the French country style are golden yellows, deep reds, French blues and saturated greens. Color is vibrant in Provence because of the harsh sunlight. (Hey, the grapes love it!) Themes are not necessary for a French country room, but some common ones are roosters, grapes and wine, lavender and other herbs. Here are some great ideas for introducing the French country style into your present décor.

*Ironwork or metalwork is very popular in French country design, and you can easily find such material in candleholders, wall grilles, and wire baskets.

*Paint a couple of your furniture pieces with a crackle finish. Pair the weathered finish with an elegant fabric table runner. Try using satin black paint on a piece or two for an elegant look.

*Details are important in the French countryside…add trim to your draperies, dress up your throw pillows with ribbon, buttons, or even old beads and jewelry, and make sure comfort abounds in soft throws and well read books.

*Use fabrics that are traditional French country fabric. Toile is quintessentially French country, and depicts country scenes in one color over a neutral background. Red and yellow florals and small geometric prints look fantastic, and black and white checks are fun!

*Use candles, flowers and fabric lavishly.

*The French love to entertain; make it easy to invite loved ones over for an impromptu celebration. Start collecting pretty plates you love, mix and match them at the table, just keep a common color theme and they will blend beautifully. Stoneware and pottery pieces are very French country. Table linens are colorful, and flowers and candles are a must.

*Finally, don’t forget the rule of contrast with French country decorating. Pair weathered paint or metal with formal fabrics or beading trim, cozy up a more formal dining chair with a black, red or blue checked fabric. Bring in baskets to hang and use, and hang elegant copper pots off a rustic pot rack sporting a wonderful old patina. Rub a glaze over a curvy lamp base to antique and distress its finish, or better yet, glaze those white kitchen cabinets. Add chicken wire to cabinet doors that hold your best china and wineglasses, and make sure you find a French landscape or floral print to hang somewhere in the room.

Adding French country style to your existing décor can add that sense of elegance you’ve been looking for, is fun, and can be done gradually and with purpose. Enjoy sharing the style of family, friends, and good food and wine!

Stop Panic Attacks Without Medication – Simple Steps to Control Panic & Anxiety Attacks!

March 4th, 2010 by susoid

Panic attacks can deprive a person of his freedom and make him virtually a prisoner of his fears. It is one of the most striking examples of how much power the brain holds over the rest of the body as manifested in every part of the body, from the heart to the stomach and limbs. The symptoms include: rapid heartbeat, sweating, feeling of suffocation, numbness, trembling, nausea, chest pain, dizziness or fainting, fear of going crazy and fear of death. The symptoms of the attacks often mimic other serious life threatening diseases.

It’s very important to differentiate panic attacks from other diseases such as cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, epilepsy, stroke, and hyperthyroidism. A clinical examination will allow the correct diagnosis.

According to the statistics about 2% of adults suffer from this condition and women are twice as likely to have this disorder compared to men.

The problem typically starts in adolescence. More than 50% of patients had their first anxiety attack before the age of 24. Sometimes the attacks appear suddenly without any apparent cause and sometimes they are triggered under specific conditions (when a person visit a certain place).

Studies suggest that this disorder often coexists with other disorders, especially depression and substance abuse. About 30% of people who suffer from panic attacks drink too much alcohol and 17% take drugs, like cocaine and marijuana. The use of these substances seems to be an attempt to reduce the discomfort caused by this disorder.

Although the exact causes of the condition remain largely unknown, heredity and stressful life events may play an important role. When a person is experiencing acute stress or worry about a change in his life (like a divorce or the death of a loved one), an anxiety attack could be triggered. Sometimes the family environment is to blame.

A person that was raised into an overly protective family will find it difficult to survive outside the environment they are familiar with.

How to cure this condition?

Unfortunately, there is no magic pill. The drugs probably will not solve your problem. Many times doctors prescribe some kind of antidepressants, but the disadvantage is that initially the patients gets worse because some properties of the antidepressants cause panic attacks in the first week, instead of actually curing them.

The “magic pill” is within you, you just don’t know where to find it.

You need to gain control over your mind and start monitoring your own thoughts.

There is a very simple method that can help you eliminate anxiety without taking any drugs.

Antique Engagement Rings – One of a Kind

Antique engagement rings can be replaced by a dealer in second-hand shops to buy a ring, or it could be an old ring that has passed in one family to another – often a man that wants to offer to her lover, when he proposes. Whatever you decide to do things, an antique engagement ring with happiness and joy year could bring a man and a woman.

If a couple has been for a while 'was a time when their thoughts on marriage and a long-term – theis often the point at which the person begins to think of a suitable proposal and a choice of engagement ring.

It 'a very happy moment when a couple to go out together to choose an engagement ring. For girls and the man who wants something different, so an old ring could be the answer. An antique engagement ring is usually distinguished from other rings because of the way in which stones are cut and set. Settings Diamond seems to come and go, and, above all, out of fashion, an antique diamond ringmight be the right thing for a couple who are not necessarily addressed by the current trend.

More than a century ago, the most popular parts of the mine of diamonds have been cut and cut through the pillow. These cuts have been especially developed for the demonstration by candlelight, as the facets of the stone would be reflected and shine, to throw back the light of the candles in a way that does not happen like this.

Some traders would look at who has already fifties, as a ring antique, but because the wordincludes a number of different eras, like the Georgian period, which ranged from the mid-eighteenth century until 1837, then followed the Victorian era, which lasted until 1900. Following this the most desirable antique engagement rings in the twentieth century, Art Nouveau, which ran for eighteen nineties to 1919 and the Art Deco period, which can be dated between nineteen twenty and nineteen thirty five, I am. All these elements had their own unique design and many ofAntique jewelry are on the market available today.

If you decide to go for an old ring that should not be a family heirloom then go to a dealer or auction house's reputation, in which there is an expert at hand, the time has come outside the ring and determine whether is a real ancient power. Once purchased the ring, you can then begin to enjoy the engagement period, and we hope that the rest of your life together.

The ‘Young Turks’ Insult Epic Bearded Guy

February 22nd, 2010 by susoid

Thomas Bruso’s account of the incident is inaccurate: 1. Thomas Bruso went from the front of the bus to the back to ask the 50 year old black guy how much he would charge for a shoe shine. (this set the conditions for conflict) 2. Thomas Bruso knew that he was antagonizing the 50 year old black man by repeating the question about the shoe shine and then by dismissing his attitude hostile and as uncalled for… 3. Thomas Bruso did not get hit in the face period; let alone 3 times… 4. Thomas Bruso did not knock out his opponent for 22 and a half minutes… 5. There was zero evidence that the black guy had a knife… 6. At the time of the incident, Thomas Bruso’s mother was already dead; but, during the interview Bruso stated that she died two days after the confrontation… 7. Thomas Bruso had ears of corn in his bag; nothing worth stealing 8. Thomas Bruso was reported to be 62 in August of last year and now he’s 5 years older? 9. Thomas Bruso is suppose to take medication for his mental illness… and he was off his meds 10. Thomas Bruso said that he was talking to Bob about his need for stacey adams to attend his mother funeral; where was Bob? It’s a shame that Thomas Bruso will never be considered a hero for his service in Vietnam where he fought against a US sanctioned enemy of freedom… But, 40 years later he is celebrated because he unleashed a barrage of insults and then punches on a very stupid american citizen… Epic Beard Man; hero of the people?
